20% Project Week #6: Goodbye

This week was my last week to work on my 20 percent project a school. I haven’t done everything I want to do. My plan is to keep on working on my project during the summer when I get bored. This week I got my poster board for my presentation on Wednesday. I don’t think my teacher gave our class enough time to work on our posters. She only gave us around two full days in class. She’s also forcing us to use the poster board. I don’t really have anything to put on my poster board. I accomplished tracing my letters for my poster board title. I didn’t get to color them or draw them out in class, so to adjust I brought my papers home to color them. I really didn’t have any struggles this week. Since this is my last week working on this project, I don’t have any pick up information for next week. I hope you have felt inspired by me. If you ever find yourself wearing embroidered jeans, show me your prized possession please!

Favorite Memories From School

This year I have had a lot of memories. Some are great, others not so much. But I am glad I got to experience my second year in middle school with my friends. Here are three memories from my school this year. My first memory from this year was going to Disneyland for an ASB trip. I was so excited to go on this “training” trip during school with my class. I remember going on the bus and being so excited to go to Disneyland without any adults besides the chaperons. After our training, my friends and I went on Indiana Jones. They were all so scared. When I was younger, it was my favorite ride. I made my friends let me sit with the seat that has the wheel. (The wheel doesn’t steer) I made a few of my friends think that I would be the one driving it. They were even more terrified! My second memory was on my birthday. After school all of my friends went to my house, and we painted Starbucks cups and went into my pool. I remember having so much fun and getting too many gifts! My last favorite memory was when me and my friends made sushi with our teacher after school. My friend had won a silent auction to make sushi with our math teacher. We made three kinds of rolls. All of them were delicious. I will never forget the look on my friends face when our teacher said “eel sauce”. You would think eel sauce is made out of eels, but it’s a sweet sauce that instead goes on-top of eel. If you’ve never tried eel sauce, you should it’s so sweet! Overall, Im very lucky I had great memories this year. What are your top three memories?

Happiness And Satisfaction

Be grateful for what you have. Cherish everything you own, someday you may not have what you want.

In this photo two boys are playing with their toys. The boy on the left is obviously upset with his mountain of toys. The boy of the right is a little bit more grateful for what he has. It doesn’t seem like he has many toys like the kid on the left but, he’s having fun outside with his toy. I believe this picture shows that sometimes having everything you want from a young age isn’t right. The kid on the left has many toys to play with but is so spoiled he’s dying about his toys. I believe the way should live is the boy on the right, starting off with something and being able to set yourself up with success by putting in effort to get wha you want. The boy on the right will work harder for what he really wants. While the boy on the left might already have everything he wants in life.

20% Project Week #5: Airport Arrivals

This week for my twenty percent project I wasn’t at school. Instead of being at school I want to Nebraska. Just like you, it wasn’t the ideal destination for a vacation but, I was visiting my family in Nebraska. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I missed school on Friday which is the day that we have a 20% project time. To make up for my missed time I worked on my jeans at the airport and at my aunts house. While packing, I forgot to pack my small scissors for cutting thread. Luckily at the airport, I had thread that was still in the needle that I used to finish up my flowers. Once we got to our destination I borrowed a pair of scissors for my thread. This week’s accomplishments include my family loving my jeans, finishing the right pocket design, and now being able to know that TSA allows needles to pass through! Next week I will be finishing my left pocket! Have a nice day.

Rad Reading-April

This month I read Scythe by Neal Shusterman. This science fiction book is about humans defying death. In this book scythes are the only humans who have permission to kill humans. This book’s point of view is from two teenagers, Citra and Rowan. The two characters have been chosen to be a scythe’s apprentice. While being a scythe may seem easy for people, Citra and Rowan realize how hard and dangerous a scythes job is.

I read this book for my brother because he suggested it to me. At the beginning of the book I wasn’t very interested in it but, the farther I got into the book, the more it sucked me in. I suggest this book because of the plot twists, the two main characters are put in a competition where the loser will be punished with death. This is just one of the plot twists in this book.

My favorite character in this book was Citra because she’s very clever and has good intentions. Citra has many characteristics but the first one I noticed was her stubbornness. On page 14 the way she talks to the scythe shows she isn’t scared to be difficult with anybody. ““The knife was clean, too, and he handed it to Citra. ”We don’t want it,” Citra told him, feeling pretty sure she could speak for her parents on the matter..”…

“But you must use it,” he insisted, “so that it might remind you.”

”Remind us of what?”

““That a scythe is merely the instrument of death, but it is your hand that swings me.”… That may have been true, but after he was gone Citra still dropped the knife into the trash.”

My favorite quote from this book is from page 26 “”But remember that good intentions pave many roads. Not all of them lead to hell.”” I like this quote because I agree with it.

A Good Neighbor

I have just been asked what makes a good neighbor. I’ll tell you what makes a good neighbor for any place like a hotel, desk, house, and more. Here are three things that make a good neighbor. Number one, the first thing I believe makes a good neighbor is someone who is friendly. It’s nice to get along with someone you’ll be seeing a lot. Friendly people can make you life much easier. The second thing that makes you a good neighbor someone who knows what personal-space awareness is. If you’ve ever had to share a desk with someone who takes up the whole desk, you’ll know it’s annoying to have no space for yourself. This also goes for next door neighbors, if your neighbor has over grown plants in their yard and they overspill into the sidewalk or your yard, that would be super annoying! And lastly, somebody who knows when to be quiet. If you’re trying to fall asleep, I’m almost positive you don’t want rock’ n’ roll blaring out of your next door neighbor’s window in the middle of the night. Or in a work space, it can be difficult to focus of somebody keeps clicking their pen. If you follow this list, you will be more like able to your neighbors who think like me!

20% Project Week #4: My Jeans

This week I got a lot done! If you are new, Hii! My name is Noel and I am embroidering my jeans. For this week’s work, I finished the daisies on the back of my jeans. I started to work on my front pockets after school on Friday. For my front pockets I am doing a design I saw on Pinterest. The design is purple flowers surrounded by leaves and little flower buds. Luckily for me, I didn’t have any struggles. I did rip apart one of my first stitches from the front pocket because it didn’t fit the theme. On week one, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted my jeans to look like, but know I do! Since I didn’t have any struggles, I didn’t have anything I needed to adjust. Next week I wont be at school on Friday, so I’ll be working on my project at the air port! Im sure others will be super impressed! Have a good rest of your day. See you next time!

20% Project #3: Daisies And Flowers

This week I was falling behind in class work for my twenty percent project. I wasn’t satisfied with how far I’ve gotten with my jeans. To adjust, after school on Friday I took them home to work on! This week I embroidered at least 20 daisies onto the back of my jeans. To engrave the daisies into your mind, I’ll describe them to you. The stitch for each pedal is while and is a loop, I have around five loops per daisy with a yellow French knot in the middle. It looks so pretty! I am so excited to show off my skills to my friends. When my grandparents came over to my house on Sunday, I showed them my jeans-in-process and they were super impressed! Another problem I had besides falling behind was running out of thread for my daisies. I have a similar shade to the daisies, but it doesn’t look right next to the yellow. Hopefully I’ll be able to go shopping at hobby lobby to get more thread. Next week I will be starting on my back and front pockets. Thank you for reading, have a jean-tastic day!

20% Project #2-Just Jeans

This week for my twenty percent project I started embroidering my jeans. Embroidering as a beginner is hard enough, but when you have stiff and layered fabric you have to work with, it’s even more challenging. Throughout the process of making my jeans, I had a few struggles this week. One of the few mistakes was cutting an hole in my jeans, to fix my mistake. Unfortunately, the school’s WiFi wouldn’t work for my phone on Friday so I couldn’t use Pinterest for all of my inspiration. To adjust, I used inspiration on my school iPad from YouTube and safari. I will take screen shoots for next week so I can have the inspiration on my phone without having to use WiFi. Next week, I will continue working on embroidering my jeans. Hopefully next week will be much better! I’m really enjoying embroidering my jeans! Thank you for reading until the end have a nice day.

My Dream Dinner

If I had the opportunity to invite three people to dinner, my top three people that would be invited would be, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and my friend Neera. The reason I would invite Harry and Taylor is because they are celebrities I’ve always wanted to meet. The reason I would invite my friend Neera is because I always enjoy hanging out with her. The first of my top three people is Harry Styles, Harry is a vey talented singer. I would invite Harry because, I would like to see him up close in person, and I would enjoy eating dinner with him. My second person I would invite is Taylor Swift. Taylor is arguably one of the best singers and songwriters. She’s one of the most talented people you will ever know. I would invite her to my dinner so I could tell her all of my amazing thoughts about her, and to get to know her. I’ve always wanted to see Taylor in person instead of on a screen. My last guest to my dinner would be my friend Neera, I’ve known Neera since I was eight years old, I’d invite her because I would probably faint at being so close to my favorite celebrities. My dinner for my guests would be on the beach, watching the sunset. I really like sunsets, and of course the beach! Im positive my guests would also enjoy eating while watching the bold colors mix into the horizon beyond the sea.
